from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Berthold Lindemann (born May 20, 1929 in Bremen ; † August 27, 2014 in Bremen) was a German hobby historian and book author who made a name for himself in coming to terms with the more than 800-year history of Osterholz .

Live and act

Lindemann came from a rural family. In 1936 he moved to Bremen with his parents and six siblings. At the end of the Second World War he still had to serve in the Volkssturm. He studied law at the University of Würzburg and the University of Marburg and worked as a judge in Bremen for almost four decades. He was married and had three children.

Lindemann published his books on his own; today they are only available in antiquarian form. As a local researcher, he reported on the historical Hollerland with Osterholz as part of it and the history of Christian social work in Bremen, such as the establishment of the Egestorff Foundation in connection with the "poor house" established in 1696 in Bremen's old town .
