Berthold von Heiligenberg

Berthold II von Heiligenberg (* in the 13th century; † January 17, 1298 ) was Bishop of Chur from 1290/91 to 1298 .

Berthold comes from the Linzgau family of the Counts of Heiligenberg . His father was Count Berthold II. It is first recorded in 1251. In 1278 he was a canon in Konstanz , and from 1280 to 1290 a canon in Chur . In 1290/91 he became bishop of Chur. He stayed in Rome in 1291 and allied himself with the Milanese Visconti in 1293 . He came to an agreement with the Lords of Aspermont and the Barons of Vaz . In 1294 he pledged the Gräpplang Castle . Berthold was the last of his line and in 1277 sold the county of Heiligenberg to his uncle Hugo I. von Werdenberg .
