Bertrand Poirot-Delpech
Bertrand Poirot-Delpech (born February 10, 1929 in Paris ; † November 14, 2006 there ) was a French writer and journalist .
Bertrand Poirot-Delpech had been a member of the Académie française since 1986 and was a literary critic for the French daily Le Monde for half a century . He was well known in his native France. People around him often just called him BPD . On his death, Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin recognized him as an incomparable defender of the French language .
