The Berlin-Brandenburg Vocational Promotion Agency is a vocational support institution with the further goal of developing social and health skills for tailor-made integration into the first labor market. In 1965, the Berlin Professional Promotion Agency was founded under the leadership of the Berlin State Insurance Company. Network plan

After 1990, the network plan of the professional development agencies in the Federal Republic of Germany was also extended to the new federal states and a separate BFW was provided for the state of Brandenburg. After being commissioned by the statutory bodies responsible for vocational rehabilitation under the leadership of the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, in the spring of 1990 the Association of Berufsförderungswerk Berlin e. V. started the planning work for a vocational support organization in Brandenburg. A suitable piece of land was found in Mühlenbeck in the summer of 1990. On February 5, 1991, the providers of vocational rehabilitation as well as the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, the Federal Ministry of Finance and the State of Brandenburg confirmed the location. The acquisition of the 20 hectare plot of land from the owner at the time, the State of Berlin, was initiated, and further planning, including an architectural competition, was intensively continued.

The owners of the Berlin-Brandenburg Berufsförderungswerk are still 100% owned by Deutsche Rentenversicherung and other German employers' liability insurance associations.

Participation in working life

The Berlin-Brandenburg Berufsförderungswerk is a social institution for vocational rehabilitation , which is based on SGB IX, especially in Sections 51 ff. SGB IX.
