The Berufsförderungswerk Leipzig non-profit GmbH (BFW Leipzig) is an institution founded in 1990 to promote participation in working life ( vocational rehabilitation ). As a facility of the German Pension Insurance , it offers people who have to reorient themselves professionally due to a health impairment after illness or accident, help to return to work.

history

It was founded on November 8, 1990 as a vocational support organization for Leipzig by the Munich vocational support organization . On October 14, 1991, the institution was renamed Berufsförderungswerk Leipzig non-profit GmbH. Teaching and teaching began on October 15, 1991.

The first of a total of five branch offices was opened on March 13, 2003 in Chemnitz . The branch in Zwickau followed on June 1, 2004 , the branch in Döbeln on September 3, 2007 , the branch in Plauen on March 17, 2008 and the branch in Brand-Erbisdorf in July 2010 . In 2018, the facility had more than 240 employees.

Since it was founded in 1990, over 7,000 participants have learned a new profession at the BFW Leipzig. Since 2012, reha-scientific colloquia have been held regularly at the BFW Leipzig on topics of vocational rehabilitation in connection with the world of work.
