Best Fiction is the fourth compilation album from the successful Japanese singer Namie Amuro . It was the second best-selling album on the Oricon charts in Japan in 2008 and also their first physical record since 1998 to break the million mark.

Compilation details

The album includes all of their singles from Wishing on the Same Star (September 2002) to 60s 70s 80s (March 2008) and two new songs, Do Me More and Sexy Girl . The songs Come , The Speed Star , Violet Sauce and Ningyo ( 人魚 ), which were published in parallel on some of the songs listed in the album on whose singles were released, did not find their way into the compilation, although there was a music video each for The Speed Star and Ningyo gives.

For all 17 songs there was also the accompanying music videos on the DVD, the CD + DVD version, as the album was released in a single CD version and a CD + DVD version. The catalog number for the single CD version is AVCD-23651 and the CD + DVD version AVCD-23650 / B .

There was a cover for both versions, which essentially only differ in perspective. On the single CD version you can see Amuro's animated face, how she is resting two fingers on her face and wearing a pink diamond ring. On the other hand, on the CD + DVD version you see Amuro leaning against a pink convertible , similar to the individual CD version, supporting her face with her hand. The font on the album is decorated with stars and is based on a fantasy theme, which is related to the title Best Fiction (translated best fiction ).

What is special about this compilation is that it is their first sound carrier since 1998 that broke the million mark. In total, the album sold more than 1.5 million times in Japan alone. Singles such as Shine More , Put 'Em Up or So Crazy , which did not have the same level of success as their previous singles, suddenly became popular and loved because of this compilation five years later.

For the mailing of more than a million CDs, the compilation was awarded a million ( diamond record ).

The album was later released in other Asian countries and as part of their 20th anniversary, the album was re-released in individual CD format on September 16, 2012, in Japan for a lower price of 1500 ¥ and limited.

advertising

To promote the album, she took advantage of the advertising contract with Vidal Sassoon by using the song Do Me More in an advertisement for the products. The fantasy theme was used in advertising and Amuro was involved as a showgirl , which also created a parallel to the compilation in terms of theme .

On October 25, 2008 she finally went on the "Namie Amuro Best Fiction Tour 2008-2009" tour and gave 64 concerts in Japan, Taiwan and China until July 12, 2009.
