Beta Systems Software AG , based in Berlin, develops software for processing large amounts of data and documents.

The company was founded in 1983, has been listed on the stock exchange since 1997 and employs around 650 people across the group. The company is based in Berlin ( Alt-Moabit ). The Beta Systems Group is represented with development centers in Cologne, Munich, Neustadt an der Weinstrasse and Calgary as well as internationally with more than 20 own group companies. Worldwide, more than 1,300 customers use products and solutions from Beta Systems in over 3,200 running installations.

Beta Systems AG shares were formerly traded on the regulated market . In September 2017, the company switched to the Entry Standard in the Open Market ( Freiverkehr ). The share has been listed in the newly created Scale segment of Deutsche Börse since March 2017 .

history

Beta Systems was founded in 1983 by Alfred Tauchnitz, Bill Schmidt and James Henderson. In the same year the first product was to be presented: the Beta 91 Quality Management System for quality assurance of input data. In 1984, the Beta 92 Process History Manager followed, a product for checking and archiving job logs. The company used the following years to expand and acquire other products. In 1991 the preparations for the IPO began. This year Beta Systems was also selected by IBM as the first European partner as part of the SystemView partner program. The company finally went public in 1997. A year later, Beta Systems took over Harbor Systems Management and integrated its storage technologies into its own products. Since the turn of the millennium, more and more new software appeared, and other companies were also taken over.

The company took over Harbor Systems Management in 1998 , Systor Security Solutions GmbH in 2003 , Kleindienst Datentechnik AG in 2005, SI Software Innovation in 2008 and Detec Decision Technology Software GmbH and Detec Software Products GmbH in 2009 .

In June 2010 Beta Systems Software AG sold the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) division to the BancTec Group.

Effective 31 July 2012, the was Detec Software GmbH (emerged from Detec Decision Technology Software GmbH and Detec Software Products GmbH) at Unicom Systems, Inc. sold.

On December 22, 2014, Beta Systems Software AG announced the complete acquisition of the shares in Munich-based Horizont Software GmbH, retrospectively to October 1, 2014.

LYNET Kommunikation AG and AUCONET GmbH have been part of the Beta Systems Group since the beginning of 2018.

In July 2019 Beta Systems announced the acquisition of a majority stake in the HABEL / Akzentum Group.

The Polish infinIT Codelab Sp. Z oo has been part of the Beta Systems Group since December 2019.
