The depot Varresbeck at the German ring in Wuppertal district Elberfeld-West is one of two bus depots the WSW mobil , a company part of the WSW Wuppertaler Stadtwerke . The second depot is the mine near Niederebreck in the east of the city.

The Varresbeck depot went into operation on June 12, 1977 and offers space for around 150 WSW mobil buses. Before that, there were bus depots in Velbert and chapels on Lichtscheid . A bus workshop belongs to the depot, which has an area of ​​around 4.2 hectares. 4 × 100,000 tanks for diesel, which are embedded in the floor in front of the workshop entrance, serve as fuel stores.

The Varresbeck depot normally houses 185 (52/93 solo cars, 12/12 midi cars, 121/189 articulated cars) of the total of 294 WSW buses . The following cars are located there:

Occasionally, the depot is opened to the public on an open day . The performance of the opera “ Der Torero oder Liebe im Akkord ” by Adolphe Adam in February 2014 on the Wuppertaler Bühnen as part of “Oper im Firmen” in the halls of the depot was unusual .
