The BKK Schwarzwald-Baar-Heuberg (BKK SBH) is a statutory health insurance provider (GKV) from the group of company health insurance funds . It is organized as a corporation under public law with self-administration by representatives of the insured and employers. As a so-called state health insurance company based in Trossingen , it is open to people living or working in Baden-Württemberg .
Foundation and development
BKK SBH was founded in 1996 from the company health insurance companies of Hohner Musikinstrument GmbH , MB Bäuerle GmbH, Tobias Bäuerle & Söhne and Johann Jäckle Metallwarenfabrik. When it was founded, the BKK SBH opened up to everyone who lives or works in Baden-Württemberg.
In 2003, the BKK of the companies SBS Feintechnik GmbH & Co KG and BIW GmbH & Co KG (BKK Josef Burger Söhne) merged with the BKK SBH. The oldest BKK of BKK SBH is BKK Josef Burger Söhne, founded in 1888.
Since it was opened, the number of policyholders has multiplied from around 4,300 at the time to over 24,500. The care of the insured is ensured by 40 employees in the branches in Trossingen , Schwenningen , St. Georgen and Schonach . Since 2018, the BKK SBH has also offered a counseling center in Tuttlingen.
Contributions
To finance statutory health insurance, members pay an income-related contribution rate from their contribution-based income. Since January 1, 2015, the general contribution rate has been 14.6%. In addition, each health insurance company can charge an individual additional contribution . The BKK SBH has been charging an additional contribution of 0.7% since 2017.
Performance expenses
In 2019, the expenses of the BKK SBH for the benefits of the insured amounted to 65 million euros. The largest expenditure items were in hospital treatment with almost 16 million euros, with almost 9.7 million euros in the supply of medicines and around 11.6 million euros in medical treatment. In the 2020 financial year, the expenses for the benefits of the insured are expected to amount to 69 million euros.
Services
In addition to the services prescribed by law in accordance with the fifth book of the Social Security Code, the BKK SBH offers some individual additional services beyond the legal framework. These statutes and additional services include a. the health care , the early detection of diseases , the prevention and added value in medical care. These include, for example, further services within the framework of general practitioner care, subsidies for professional teeth cleaning , subsidies for osteopathic treatment, the assumption of costs for homeopathic treatment and the assumption of costs for further preventive examinations .
