Bettina Elmpt

Bettina Elmpt (* 1956 in Düsseldorf ) is a German sculptor and object artist .

biography

Elmpt studied sculpture at the Düsseldorf Art Academy from 1979 to 1986 . She dedicated her work to “architectural garments”, the “three skins of man” (architecture, clothing and skin), as well as the perception of time and space and of things. On these topics she created performances, installations, projections and exhibitions,

In 1983 she received a scholarship from the Ministry of Culture of North Rhine-Westphalia for a stay in Paris . In 1986 she received a grant from the Project Civitella d'Agliano. In 1990 she received a working grant from the Berlin Senate for cultural affairs. In 1991 she was the winner of the "Art and Order" competition organized by ELBA . 1992 ASS. In 1992 she was also awarded the Kahnweiler Foundation Prize. In 1997 she received a scholarship from the Künstlerdorf Schöppingen eV This was followed by further exhibitions in Germany as well as in Brussels and Seoul . From 2007 Elmpt created in particular "Architectural garments for furniture".
