Bettina Warnecke

Bettina Warnecke (born February 6, 1974 in Kiel ) is a German local politician (independent) and lawyer . She has been the mayor of Haan ( North Rhine-Westphalia ) since September 27, 2015 .

Education and professional career

From 1993 to 1998 studied Warnecke at the Universities of Hamburg and Konstanz law with a focus on municipal and civil service law . After her first state examination in law , she and her future husband spent a year abroad at Stellenbosch University in South Africa in 1999 . From 2000 to 2002 she completed her legal clerkship in the district court district of Kiel. In Kiel she finally completed her legal training with the 2nd state examination in law. From 2002 to 2005 Warnecke did his doctorate at the German University of Administrative Sciences Speyer and obtained a doctorate in administrative sciences .

From 1998 to 2003 Warnecke gained experience advising authorities. In 2003, she joined the army and went through there as a management lawyer numerous stations: Kreiswehrersatzamt Koblenz, press officer and head of the rod element Press and Public Relations in the Wehrbereichsverwaltung West in Dusseldorf, editor in chief and head of public relations and employee information in the press and information center staff at the Federal Office for the Personnel management of the Bundeswehr in Cologne.

Political career

The CDU Haan placed Warnecke, who is herself independent, as a candidate for mayor's office in April 2015. As a result, Warnecke was elected mayor of the city of Haan in the runoff election on September 27, 2015. She received 59.8% of the vote and thus prevailed against the predecessor Knut vom Bovert (non-party).

Private

Warnecke is married and has three children.
