Beverly Powers

Beverly Powers , also known as Miss Beverly Hills (* 7. August 1939 in Los Angeles , California as Beverly Jean Montgomery ) is a former American Burlesque -Tänzerin, stripper and actress .

Career

Powers performed as a dancer at the Tropicana in Las Vegas at the age of 17 and was later discovered by nightclub owner Chuck Landis. He was looking for a replacement for the imprisoned Candy Barr , who was the star of various burlesque shows. Powers took the stage name Miss Beverly Hills and became known nationally as a nightclub dancer. In 1963 she had an engagement at the Largo Club on the Sunset Strip , in 1965 she appeared in the Circle Star Theater in San Carlos .

Powers appeared on the covers of various magazines and began taking on small film roles from 1961. Although she only played supporting roles and was often not mentioned in the credits, it can roles in films such as Viva Las Vegas , Sweden - Only because of love or Jaws show. She was especially remembered for her appearance as a stripper in the classic film Breakfast at Tiffany's . By the late 1970s, she also appeared in various entertainment and television programs such as Bronk . In 1964, she also appeared as a singer in a comedy show by Jack Benny . She had her last television appearance in 1979 in Fantasy Island . Today Powers lives on Maui , her book entitled Passing the Baton of Light: Saving a Family Tree was published in 2014.
