Bibi Wintersdorf

Bibi (Jeanne) Wintersdorf (born April 29, 1963 in Esch sur Alzette ) is a Luxembourgish author, presenter, TV producer, communications expert and university lecturer.

education and study

Bibi Wintersdorf made her first public appearances as a singer in 1977 at the age of 14. This was followed by stage appearances with self-composed songs and a repertoire of internationally known folk songs, which earned her an entry in the Luxembourg rock lexicon and the nickname “Joan Baez Luxemburg”. In 1983 she was involved in the alternative long-playing record “BIOS”, which was recorded in the Linster Studios in Luxembourg. She studied music and singing at the Conservatory in Luxembourg and then, during her language studies in Brussels, classical singing at the Conservatoire de Musique de Forest. Later, during her time at RTL Television , she was involved as a singer and producer in several music productions with children's songs, some of which were awarded gold records.

Professional background

After studying interpreting in Brussels, Bibi Wintersdorf became an employee of the finance ministry in Luxembourg, where she worked with the then stock exchange commissioner and now a member of the European Central Bank (ECB), Yves Mersch, and the prime minister / finance minister Jacques Santer . At the same time, she moderated her own radio programs for RTL Radio Lëtzebuerg, for which she later worked as a freelance columnist.

In 1987 she moved to the Luxembourg embassy in Bonn, where she was director of the PR and tourism department until 1989.

Producer

From 1989 to 1996, Wintersdorf was the responsible producer and department head of the children's and youth program at the private television broadcaster RTL Television in Cologne. She produced numerous children's and youth programs, some of which received awards, such as For example, the program “Li-La-Launebär”, which received the renowned game culture prize in Aachen in 1992.

In 1996, after the birth of her daughter, Bibi Wintersdorf returned to Luxembourg and founded her own production company, Mettymedia Sàrl, with which she produced several hundred children's and youth programs as well as magazines and spots for various German television companies ( Super RTL , KIKA , ARD , Pro 7).

moderator

From 1997 to 1998 Bibi Wintersdorf was the leading producer of the magazine section of the national TV station RTL Télé-Lëtzebuerg, where she hosted the weekly VIP program “High-Leit”, in which she presented portraits of and conversations with public figures.

From 1996 onwards, Wintersdorf hosted many major events, award ceremonies and galas in several languages, including the official opening of the cultural year in Luxembourg in 2007 in the presence of the grand ducal court.

Station & Corporate Voice

From 2009 to 2013 she was Deputy Manager and Executive Producer in charge of the creative department of IP Luxemburg (advertising marketer and producer). During the same period she was "station voice" for RTL Radio Lëtzebuerg and "corporate voice" for many well-known domestic and foreign companies.

Communication trainer

From 2008–2009, Bibi Wintersdorf coached all 66 candidates of the then ruling party CSV in the election campaign as a communication trainer. Since then she has been working as a communication coach for various organizations, ministries and private companies. Since the beginning of 2014 she has been a Certified Professional and Executive Coach and a member of the ICF (International Coach Federation).

University lecturer

Since the beginning of 2013, Wintersdorf has taught conflict management and business English at the state-recognized and accredited private eufom University (European University for Economics and Management Asbl). She is a member of the European Institute for Knowledge & Value Management, EIKV , where she heads the research focus "Human Capital Management".

Author

In 2006 Bibi Wintersdorf's first book was published, “Luxembourg in the 50s”, a historical textbook and bestseller, which was awarded the 2007 Luxembourg Book Prize. Another 3 volumes followed, “Luxembourg in the 60s”, “Luxembourg in the 70s” and “Luxembourg in the 80s” as well as a cookbook (in 2007 she took third place in the final of the international Cooking Cup in Cape Town) , all of them award-winning bestsellers.

Volunteering

Since 2000 Wintersdorf has been involved in Fifty-One International, a service club with the motto “Friendship, Tolerance and Appreciation”, which is committed to serving the community. From 2008 to 2011 she was President of the Club Fifty-One Ladies Luxembourg-Europe, and from 2013 President of the Fifty-One Club Ladies International Gëlle Fra, which was the first international (English-speaking) club of the movement in Luxembourg with around 40 members and more than 20 nationalities united. From 2010 to 2013 she was the first female governor of Fifty-One (representative of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg at international level).

Personal

Wintersdorf was first married to radio and television presenter Metty Krings from 1992 to 2008 , with whom she has a daughter (* 1995). In 2010 she married the Italian engineer and manager Dr. Maurizio Maffei. Bibi Wintersdorf lives and works in Luxembourg.
