The library of the Museo di Storia Naturale , the museum of natural history, is one of the scientific libraries in Venice . It was created with the Museum of Natural History ( Museo di Storia Naturale ) in 1923 and was based on collections from Venetian naturalists such as Gian Domenico Nardo (1802–1877), Nicolò Contarini (1780–1849), Giovanni Miani (1810–1872) and Antonio Dondi dell'Orologio (1751-1801). It is located in the immediate vicinity of the Fontego dei Turchi on the Grand Canal. These holdings were expanded through acquisitions, donations and exchanges with other scientific institutions.
