The three-axle narrow gauge wet steam - locomotives Biebertal lane 1 II -3 II of Biebertal train were from Henschel produced from 1920 to 1927.
They provided all traffic on the route until it was stopped. One locomotive was re-designated as number 60 for organizational reasons . This locomotive has been preserved and is now (2020) operational on the Märkische Museum-Eisenbahn .
history
When the Biebertalbahn started operating, there were three small two-axle steam locomotives that were soon no longer sufficient for overall operation. That is why Henschel ordered three larger three-axis machines from the standard range. These were delivered in 1920, 1923 and 1927 and took over all traffic. A five-axle locomotive was procured from Jung for top performance in ore transport .
Later number 2 II was changed to number 60 for organizational reasons , number 3 II became 2 III .
When the Deutsche Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft took over the route , the locomotives kept their numbers. The only one that remained was number 60 . It was bought by DEG with donations and first set up in front of a hotel at the former Krofdorf-Gleiberg train station . In 1985 it came to the Sauerland Kleinbahn and could be put back into operation in 1992.
construction
The control of the steam engine was practiced with a Heusinger control , the third axis is driven. All wheels are sprung with leaf springs, the springs are located above the circumference and are connected to one another by means of compensating levers. The locomotive is equipped with a hand-operated sandpit, there are two sand downpipes on each side of the engine, which sand the second axle from the front and rear.
They have a Knorr- type indirect brake and a handbrake. After 1960 the locomotives were equipped with electric lighting with a turbo generator .
