List of locomotive and multiple unit series of the Deutsche Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft (1960–1969)
The locomotive and multiple unit series of the Deutsche Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft in Germany are arranged according to their own series scheme. The series were selected in the 1950s and were redesignated between 1960 and 1969.
Steam locomotives (standard gauge)
The vehicle status of DEG was already determined around 1950. Possibly the new designation should avoid the original designation practice with railway administration and the number with first occupation, second occupation, etc. In order to largely eliminate duplication and to put the machines in their wheel sequence in a coherent scheme, the locomotives were redrawn according to the following numbering plan;
- 1 + 2 = locomotives with the wheel arrangement B n2t,
- 10 + 11 = locomotives with the wheel arrangement 1'B n2t,
- 21 - 28 = locomotives with the wheel arrangement C n2t,
- 31 - 38 = locomotives with the wheel arrangement C n2t,
- 41 - 44 = locomotives with the wheel arrangement C1 'n2t,
- 50 - 51 = locomotives with the wheel arrangement 1'C n2t,
- 61 - 66 = locomotives with the B'B n4vt wheel arrangement,
- 72 - 73 = locomotives with the wheel arrangement D n2t,
- 90 - 91 = locomotives with the wheel arrangement D n2t,
- 140 - 146 = locomotives with the wheel arrangement 1'C h2t,
- 150 - 159 = locomotives with the 1'C h2t wheel arrangement,
- 161 - 162 = locomotives with the wheel arrangement 1'D h2t,
- 170 - 176 = locomotives with the wheel arrangement D h2t,
- 180 - 185 = locomotives with the wheel arrangement D h2t,
- 191 - 196 = locomotives with the wheel arrangement D h2t,
- 201 - 206 = locomotives with the wheel arrangement E h2t,
- 211 = locomotive with the wheel arrangement 1'C1 'h2t,
- 221 - 227 = locomotives with the wheel arrangement 1'C1 'h2t,
- 231 - 232 = locomotives with the wheel arrangement 1'C2 'h2t,
- 261 - 262 = locomotives with the wheel arrangement 1'D1 'h2t,
- 271 = locomotive with the wheel arrangement 1'E1 'h2t.
Around that time it was foreseeable that the production of steam locomotives would come to an end and no new new locomotives would be produced in large numbers. Many locomotives that were intended for the redesignation were no longer in service by 1960. Two locomotives of the Moselle passenger train locomotives were planned for the redesignation, in fact only the number 11 was redesignated in 1960. Three of the Moselle freight locomotives were also to be given a DEG designation; in fact, only number 66 was renamed. Many of the machines included in the list from 1960 onwards were shut down, depending on their state of preservation and the validity of the periods of use. With this tracing system, too, there was later duplication, so there was a DEG number 1 once with the axis sequence B and one with the axis sequence C.

Diesel locomotives and small locomotives (standard gauge)
Among the diesel locomotives, locomotives in the power class from 30 hp to 1200 hp were represented. The locomotives were built in the period from 1934 to 1968. Technically everything was included from the locomotive with mechanical power transmission and rod drive to hydrodynamic power transmission and cardan shaft drive . New machines were often given to the company for rent by the manufacturers, which were then passed around to the railway companies for testing. The manufacturer was dominated by the locomotives from MaK , there were also some examples from KHD , BMAG , Jung , O&K , ME , Henschel and Krauss-Maffei . There were no diesel-electric locomotives .

Diesel railcar (standard gauge)
The DEG railcar fleet was a representative cross-section of vehicles from pre-war and post-war history. The Esslingen railcars dominated the operation , but there was also a large number of vehicles in small numbers and of different ages, which were used or brand new depending on the area of activity. The four-axle vehicles with two bogies dominated numerically, two-axle vehicles were still represented in large numbers. The majority of the vehicles had a mechanical transmission.
The vehicle fleet represents the dying of lines on private railways in the area from around 1960 onwards. Many vehicles from pre-war production were already decommissioned at the end of the 1960s. The other diesel railcars of more recent year of construction were actively in use until the 1990s and were then made redundant by route reductions or replaced by new construction vehicles. Some vehicles can still be seen in use at museum railways in 2020.
