Biedermann was an Austrian rock band that was founded in Fürstenfeld / Styria in 2007 and dissolved in 2016. The group is assigned to alternative rock , the lyrics are in German.
history
Various sessions were held and recorded by Robert Schwarzl ( electric guitar , vocals ) and Manfred Trummer ( drums ) in the Farmerstudio in Neudorf near Ilz . In the same year Ivan Stevanovic (electric guitar, vocals), Peter Sorko ( electric bass ) and Max Bruno Tödtling alias Max Bruno Biedermann (vocals, melodica , piano ) joined them. Thus the band emerged from the hard core of various ex-bands like "Le Craval", "Stalker", "No Fate" and "Agent Orange".
The band name "Biedermann" was based on the very "adapted" Biedermeier period at the beginning of the 19th century . In the self-written lyrics, the honest man of the 21st century is denounced as not worth striving for.
The first appearance took place in 2009 at the Orpheum in Graz. This was the prelude to around 35 concerts in the years 2009 to 2011.
In 2010 the song Gladiators was created for the Fürstenfeld football team of the same name.
In the same year Biedermann took part in two band competitions:
- In the preliminary rounds of the “ Local Heroes ” in the PPC Graz, Biedermann was the jury winner. This resulted in an incentive that improved the outfit and the stage performance. As Styria, Biedermann rose to 2nd place overall in the Austrian final in the Arena (Vienna) . There, Austria won third place as the best Styrian band. Of all 15 finalists, Biedermann was the only German singing band. In total, around 230 bands across Austria took part.
- At the "Orpheum Newcomer", Biedermann was also the jury winner in the preliminary round. In the final, they achieved the overall second place out of 15 finalists. A total of 78 bands took part.
In November 2010, as part of hosted by Biedermann on gotv , the music video on Reise zu Zwei was broadcast publicly for the first time.
The single Nomaden der Liebe and the accompanying music video were released in December 2011. The debut album Sehnsuchtswerk was released in 2012.
At the beginning of 2016 the band was dissolved for reasons not known in detail.
