The Biermanufaktur Engel GmbH & Co KG is a 1738 founded, medium Biermanufaktur with Brauereigasthof in Crailsheim . It was acquired by the Fach family in 1877 and is now the fifth generation to brew.

history

In 1877 Georg Fach took over the brewery, which had been in existence since 1738 and initially only had to cover the inn's own needs. In 1903 a steam engine was installed in the brewery. In 1907 Georg Fachs' second son, Friedrich Fach, also joined the company. The first automobile supplemented the horse-drawn carriage in 1920. During the Second World War , the brewery, like the city, was almost completely destroyed and then rebuilt.

Companies

The brewery is located in the city of Crailsheim (northeast Baden-Württemberg ) and has been owned by the Fach family since 1877. The current owners are Wilhelm and his son Alexander Fach. Since the turn of the millennium, Engel-Biermanufaktur has developed into a specialty brewery that is regularly awarded prizes for its beers. Around 65,000 hl of beer and non-alcoholic beverages (60% draft beer) are produced by 35 employees each year. The brewery also supplies two of the three beer tents at the Franconian folk festival with the angel tent and the little angel .

  • 2016: World Beer Cup awarded the bronze medal for Engel Bock Dunkel, in the German-Style Bock or Maibock category.
  • 2014: Federal Honor Award
  • 1996–2014: Award of the best of the DLG (German Agricultural Society) for long-term top performance
  • 2013: " European Beer Star " awarded the gold medal for Engel Keller hell
  • 2012: "European Beer Star" awarded the gold medal for Engel Bock hell
  • 2011: Brewery of the Year; Federal honorary award in gold for Biermanufaktur Engel (highest German quality award for beer)
  • 2010: “European Beer Star” awarded the silver medal for Engel-Kellerbier dark

Others

The brewery is a member of the Brauring , a cooperation between private breweries from Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
