The shrine in front of the prison on the western side of the fortress Street in the Upper Franconian town of Kronach is under monument protection standing small monument , which was originally created for the most part in the 17th or 18th century. The fragments of the wayside shrine made of sandstone were found in a piece of land on the east side of the fortress road and - supplemented by the missing components - rebuilt in June 1974 at their current location.

The structure of the small monument follows the Ionic order : A round shaft rises above a volute base , the end of which is formed by a capital also decorated with two volutes . A rectangular tower with retracted arched gables rests on the capital . There are reliefs in the four picture niches of the essay : the north side shows the coronation of Mary , the south side a trefoil cross , on the two narrow sides the Saints Anthony of Padua and Peter are depicted.
