Wayside shrine Hemmessen (Bad Neuenahr)
The wayside shrine in Hemmessen is a wayside shrine at Sebastianstraße 77 in Bad Neuenahr , a district of Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler in the Ahrweiler district ( Rhineland-Palatinate ). The wayside shrine is located in the former village of Hemmessen and stands next to the St. Antonius and Sebastian chapel under an old linden tree , which is protected as a natural monument.

The three meter high sandstone wayside shrine has reliefs on its four gable-crowned sides . The main page shows the crucifixion of Christ and St. Anthony with the inscription "GOT IS THE HONOR OF THE HEMESE" and "MY TIME, ANNO 1723". On the other sides there are reliefs of the Apostle Peter , the risen Christ and St. Apollinaris (inscription S. APELNARIUS ). St. Sebastian represented with the inscription S. PASTIAN .
