Bill LaRochelle
Bill LaRochelle (actually William Donald LaRochelle; born July 12, 1926 in Windsor , Ontario , † April 29, 2011 in San Carlos , California ) was a Canadian hurdler and sprinter .
In 1948 he retired from the Olympic Games in London over 400 m hurdles and in the 4 x 400 meter relay in the run-up.
At the British Empire Games in Auckland in 1950 , he failed over 440 yards and over 440 yards hurdles in the preliminary round; with the Canadian 4-by-440-yard relay, he came in fifth.
In 1948 and 1949 he was Canadian Champion over the 440 yard hurdles. He set his personal best in this discipline of 54.5 seconds in 1948.
