William Myles Nobles (born August 29, 1924 - October 9, 2005 ), known as Billy Myles , was an American R&B composer, singer and music publisher. His best known tracks include (You Were Made for) All My Love , a 1960 hit for Jackie Wilson , and Have You Ever Loved a Woman , recorded by Freddie King in 1960 and Derek and the Dominos in 1970 .

Myles worked as a resident composer for the New York record labels Herald and Ember by Al Silver. He wrote mostly ballads, occasionally with co-authors such as singers Jackie Wilson and Brook Benton . The performers who brought out his songs included Wilson, Benton, Little Willie John , Freddie King and Gladys Knight . Over 170 Myles compositions are registered with Broadcast Music Incorporated .

Billy Myles made in the 1950s, even some recordings, of which only one was successful: in 1957 rose The Joker (That's What They Call Me) at No. 25 of the Pop - Charts and number 13 of the R & B charts in the US. This success led to an appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show with Buddy Holly in 1958 . In 1959, Myles appeared in the English film Swing Beat .

In 1960, Freddie King recorded the Myles song Have You Ever Loved a Woman , which Eric Clapton re-recorded with his band Derek & the Dominos in 1970 for the album Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs . The piece then became part of Clapton's standard repertoire.

Billy Myles had his own music publisher Selbon Music Inc. (read "Nobles" backwards) in Greenville (North Carolina), which was continued after his death in 2005 by his son Steven Myles Nobles.
