Billy Vunipola (born November 3, 1992 in Sydney , Australia ) is an English rugby union player . He plays as a winger for the England national team and the Saracens .

childhood and education

Vunipola was born in Sydney to Fe'ao Vunipola , who was a Tongan international. He grew up in Wales and England with his brother Mako Vunipola , with whom he later played for the Saracens and the national team. In England, Billy attended Harrow School and was discovered by the Wasps and accepted into their academy.

Career

Vunipola first played for the Wasps in the English Premiership when he was 18 . After two seasons he moved to the Saracens, for which he has been active ever since. With the Sarries he has won four championship titles (2015, 2016, 2018 and 2019) and three times the European Rugby Champions Cup (2016, 2017, 2019).

National team

Vunipola made his national team debut in June 2013 against Argentina and also made his first attempt for England in that game. At the Six Nations 2016 he won the Grand Slam with the English selection. In 2017 he was nominated for the British and Irish Lions , but had to leave early due to an injury and was not used against New Zealand . In 2019 he was nominated for the English World Cup squad .
