Members of the Binder-Krieglstein family now live in Austria, Germany and Belgium.

After the end of the monarchy in Austria-Hungary , the parliament of German Austria decided on April 3, 1919 to abolish the nobility. As a result of this nobility annulment law , Austrian citizens from the family lost the right to use their titles.

In Austria around 30 people currently bear the name Binder-Krieglstein. However, the number of people belonging to the family is many times greater.

Perhaps best known to the public today is the musician Rainer Binder-Krieglstein (great-grandson of the aforementioned writer Eugen Freiherrn Binder von Krieglstein), who released four albums in the 2000s under the name Binder & Krieglstein .
