The Biretta Peak is a small and 2530 m high mountain peak in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It rises on the east side of Pain Mesa in the Mesa Range .
Participants in the 1962 to 1963 campaign as part of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition named it after its resemblance to a birett , a headgear worn by Christian clergy.
