Birger Nerman
Birger Nerman (born October 6, 1888 in Norrköping , † August 22, 1971 in Stockholm ) was a Swedish prehistoric archaeologist and author.
Birger Nerman had two brothers, the communist Ture Nerman and the artist Einar Nerman . Nerman was from 1923 professor of archeology at the University of Tartu . He led the excavations of the Russian border fortress Isborsk and Grobiņa in Latvia . In 1938 Nerman became director of the State Historical Museum in Sweden.
