Birgir Hansen (born November 16, 1986 ) is a former Icelandic ice hockey player who has spent his entire career with Ísknattleiksfélagið Björninn in the Icelandic ice hockey league and was Icelandic champion with the club in 2012.

Career

Birgir Hansen began his career as a hockey player with Ísknattleiksfélagið Björninn in the Icelandic ice hockey league . From 2011 he was occasionally used with Hunar , the club's second team. In 2012 he was involved in the only championship title of his club to date. A year later he ended his career.

International

In the junior division, Birgir Hansen played in 2001 in qualifying for Division III of the U18 World Championships , which was lost to Turkey, and in the U18 World Championship in Division III in 2003 and in the U20 division in 2001 in qualifying for Division III in the U20 World Championships , in which the Icelanders were able to prevail against Luxembourg and Ireland and thus qualified for the U20 World Cup in Division III 2002 , in which Birgir Hansen then also played.

Birgir Hansen played with the men's national team of the Northmen at the World Championships of Division II in 2007 and 2008 .
