Birgit Herdejürgen (born April 15, 1965 in Nordenham ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

After graduating from high school in 1984, Birgit Herdejürgen completed a degree in social economics at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität Kiel , which she graduated in 1989 with a degree in social economics. She then worked at the State Statistical Office in Kiel and in 1991 switched to the Society for Economic Development in the Steinburg district . She then worked from 1994 to 1995 at the Society for Technology Promotion in the Steinburg district and from 1995 to 1998 in project planning and support as part of a conversion measure in Itzehoe . From 1994 to 1999, Birgit Herdejürgen studied social pedagogy at the Kiel University of Applied Sciences .

Birgit Herdejürgen is married.

Political party

She joined the SPD in 1991 and was a member of the SPD district executive in Steinburg from 1995 to 2003. From 1998 to 2012 she was chairwoman of the Steinburg district association of the working group of social democratic women .

Birgit Herdejürgen was a member of the district council of the Steinburg district from 1998 to 2003 .

She has been a member of the Schleswig-Holstein state parliament since 2000 . She is a member of the executive board of the SPD parliamentary group and was the parliamentary’s financial policy spokesperson and chairwoman of the parliamentary group's finance group from 2005 to 2012 . She was a member of the parliamentary committee of inquiry at HSH Nordbank . Since 2012 she has been the parliamentary director of her parliamentary group, a member of the finance committee and a member of the committee preparing the election of the members of the state constitutional court.

Birgit Herdejürgen 2000 as the directly elected members of the constituency Steinburg East and 2005, on the 2009 and 2012 national list drawn the SPD in the state parliament.
