Birgit Jaeckel (* 1980 in Nuremberg ) is a German novelist and screenwriter. She publishes both in well-known publishers and as a self-publisher.

life and work

Birgit Jaeckel studied prehistory and early history , paleontology and ancient history at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg and in Bergen (Norway) . During this time she took part in several archaeological excavations. After her studies she worked a. a. in Stockholm at the Right Livelihood Award Foundation. She currently lives in Erlangen and, in addition to her work as an author, works as a story coach and communication trainer.

Birgit Jaeckel writes mainly in the areas of history, fantasy and drama . Her fantastic novel Das Erbe der Rauhnacht received the SERAPH as best independent title in 2019 and was placed on the longlist of the German Self-Publishing Prize .

In addition to novels, Birgit Jaeckel writes screenplays, and in 2017 she received her first contract with a German production company. She is a member of the fantastic authors network PAN.
