Birgit Jank

Birgit Jank (* 1956 ) is a German university professor and founder.

Birgit Jank studied music teacher and song at the Academy of Music Hanns Eisler Berlin and since 2004 has been professor of music education and music teaching at the University of Potsdam . Her main areas of work are music in social contexts, song research, interdisciplinary aesthetic practice, historical music education / processing and GDR music education.

Together with Hoffbauer gGmbH , a subsidiary of the Hoffbauer Foundation , and the Bertheau & Morgenstern music school, Jank founded the Hoffbauer Vocational Academy , which began teaching in 2011. Birgit Jank was president of the professional academy. The University of Applied Sciences Clara Hoffbauer Potsdam was developed from the vocational academy and began teaching in 2016 and is sponsored by the Evangelische Hochschule Potsdam gGmbH. The partners of the Evangelische Hochschule Potsdam gGmbH are the Hoffbauer Foundation, the music school Bertheau & Morgenstern and Birgit Jank.
