Bisdorf , formerly also partly spelled Biesdorf , Bistorf and Bistorff , is a residential area belonging to Rhode , located in the town of Königslutter am Elm in the Helmstedt district in Lower Saxony .

history

Bisdorf goes back to a manor of the same name owned by the Lords of Bartensleben . The oldest manor buildings, which are still preserved today, date from 1726.

When the last male representative of the von Bartensleben family, Gebhard Werner von Bartensleben, died out in 1742, the estate came into the possession of the Wolfsburg branch of the Count von der Schulenburg . At the time of his death, only Anna Adelheit Catharina von Bartensleben , the widow of Adolph Friedrich von der Schulenburg, lived of his children . According to Adolph Friedrich von der Schulenburg's will, the goods were divided up when the eldest son, Gebhard Werner von der Schulenburg , turned 25. In 1748 the goods Brome and Bisdorf fell to Gebhard Werner von der Schulenburg by lottery .

As part of the regional reform in Lower Saxony , Bisdorf was spun off from the Gifhorn district and has been part of the town of Königslutter am Elm in the Helmstedt district since March 1, 1974.

The sheepfold of the manor, built in 1905, was converted into rooms for events by Günzel Graf von der Schulenburg-Wolfsburg in 1992 , and in 1993 the adjacent former horse stable from the early 18th century.
