Bishopsbourne is a small village and civil parish in Kent , England , about 6 km from Canterbury and 15 miles from Dover .

The village became known through the writer Joseph Conrad , who lived in Oswald's house from 1919 until his death on August 3, 1924 . The house is still standing today. In Bishopsbourne there was from 1889 its own railway station of the 'Southern Railway'. The station was closed to civil traffic in 1940 and completely closed in 1945. The station was later completely renovated and is now privately owned.
