Hereford Diocese
The Diocese of Hereford ( lat . : Dioecesis Herefordensis ) is an Anglican diocese in the ecclesiastical province of Canterbury of the Church of England with its seat in Hereford . Some parishes in Wales also belong to it . It was a Roman Catholic diocese until the English Reformation .
history
The Diocese of Hereford was established in 676 from cessions of territory from the Diocese of Lichfield .
The last Roman Catholic bishop , Robert Parfew , died on September 22, 1558.
The Catholic diocese of Hereford was subordinate to the Archdiocese of Canterbury as a suffragan .
