Diocese of Orange
The Diocese of Orange ( lat. : Dioecesis Aurausicana ) was one in France situated Roman Catholic diocese , based in Orange .
history
The diocese of Orange was established in the 3rd century. The first bishop was Luce .
On November 29, 1801, the Diocese of Orange was dissolved as a result of the Concordat of 1801 by Pope Pius VII with the Papal Bull Qui Christi Domini and the territory was annexed to the Archdiocese of Avignon .
The Diocese of Orange was subordinate to the Archdiocese of Arles as a suffragan .
On February 9, 2009, the Diocese of Orange was re-established as the Titular Diocese of Orange .
