Catholic Mother of God Church in Vladivostok

The Catholic diocese of Vladivostok (lat. Dioecesis Vladivostokensis ) in the far east of Russia is a de facto perishable diocese. It was founded on December 1, 1921 as the Apostolic Vicariate of Siberia. Elevated to the diocese in 1923 , it nominally comprised all of Russia, but was no longer occupied after the death of the first bishop Carlo Sliwowski in 1933. In 1991 the territory of European Russia was reorganized as the Archdiocese of Moscow . There are two other Catholic dioceses in Siberia . At the latest with the elevation of the Russian administrations to regular dioceses (including Irkutsk , on whose territory the city of Vladivostok lies), the diocese was abolished due to the lack of remaining, even theoretical, territory. The resolution took place on February 11, 2002.
