Björn Bakken (born February 22, 1984 ) is a former American biathlete .

Björn Bakken made his international debut in a relay race as part of the European Cup in Méribel , where he finished ninth with Jacob Beste , Kurt Farchmin and Adam van Straten. This was followed by participation in the 2004 Junior World Championships in Haute-Maurienne . In the individual, he finished 49th and was tenth in the relay with Brian Olsen , Farchmin and Mark Johnson. A year later he took part again in the Junior World Championships in Kontiolahti , where he was 72nd of the individual, 77th of the sprint and 13th of the relay race with Kevin Patzoldt , Benjamin Byrne and Farchmin. At the continental level, Bakken started in 2008 at the North American Championships in Biathlon . In the sprint, he just missed winning the bronze medal in fourth place. In the pursuit race he lost several places and finished seventh as well as in the mass start race. In addition, he took part in international cross-country skiing races several times between 2006 and 2008 , but without achieving any results worth mentioning. In the 2007/08 NorAm Cup , which also included the continental championship, Bakken took 19th place overall.
