location
The district is located approx. 6 km northeast of the Losheim district. The name of the place comes from the Hölzbach flowing through it and the proximity of the forest.
history
Waldhölzbach was first mentioned around the year 1050 in a list of goods from Mettlach Abbey. Historical finds suggest that the place was created around the middle of the 8th century.
On January 1, 1974, the previously independent community of Waldhölzbach was incorporated into the Losheim community.
The district has been a recognized resort for years . In 1977 Waldhölzbach won the gold medal in the national competition Our village should become more beautiful . The multi-purpose building in the center of the village was completed in 1987. It also serves as a fire station . Nearby there is a Kneipp facility in the middle of a wooded area, a music pavilion, a nearby wildlife park and the lookout point Schau ins Land . The German architect Hanns Schönecker built a church here in 1963 and 1964. The 84-kilometer Eichenlaubstrasse holiday route runs through Waldhölzbach.
