history
The history of Hausbach goes back to Roman times , as evidenced by a Roman burial ground and the foundations of more than a dozen buildings by Roman settlers from the 3rd century . In the past, the inhabitants mainly operated in agriculture . Medium-sized companies in the construction sector shape economic life. The Hausbach volunteer fire brigade was founded in 1910 and has been providing fire protection and general assistance ever since .
On January 1, 1974, the previously independent municipality of Hausbach was incorporated into the municipality of Losheim. At the same time, another eleven former localities (Bachem, Bergen, Britten, Losheim, Mitlosheim, Niederlosheim, Rimlingen, Rissenthal, Scheiden, Wahlen, Waldhölzbach) became part of the community association.
