Bjarni Þór Viðarsson (born March 5, 1988 in Reykjavík ) is a former Icelandic football player . He played in attacking midfield.

Career

Bjarni Viðarsson came in the summer of 2004 by FH Hafnarfjordur for Everton . He spent most of the time in reserve, but also trained with the senior team. Bjarni was a substitute for the game against Newcastle United at St. James Park in February 2006, but he was not used. A month later he signed his first contract as a professional.

On February 5, 2007, he was loaned to Bournemouth AFC for a month . Bjarni played at this club in the left and not as usual in the central midfield. He scored one goal for Bournemouth before returning to Everton because of the injured Tim Cahill . There he made his debut on December 20, 2007 for Everton as a substitute (substituted in the 68th minute) in the UEFA Cup game against AZ Alkmaar .

On January 29, 2008 it was announced that Bjarni Viðarsson would be loaned to FC Twente until June 30. On May 15, 2008 he was signed by Twente.

In summer 2009 he moved to KSV Roeselare . He made his debut in the first Belgian league in a 5-1 defeat against KAA Gent . A year later he switched to KV Mechelen .

National team

In 2007 Bjarni was included in the squad of the Icelandic national football team and had an assignment. He has already played for Iceland in the U16, U17, U18, U19 and U21 teams.

His only international match for the Icelandic national soccer team was against Russia in February 2008.
