Black Mesa (test site)

Black Mesa (also known as Blanding launch site ) was a US Army missile test site near Blanding , San Juan County , Utah .
Between September 24, 1963 and November 24, 1970, around 80 Pershing 1 rockets were launched from mobile launch vehicles for experimental purposes . The Bundeswehr was also involved in these tests. In many cases, the missiles were targeted at the White Sands Missile Range (WSMR), 394 miles away .
