The Black River ( English for "Black River") is a tributary of Lake Winnipeg in the east of the Canadian province of Manitoba .
The Black River has its origin in Black Lake in Nopiming Provincial Park not far from the provincial border with Ontario . It flows in a predominantly westerly direction through the Canadian Shield . He takes the tributary Rabbit River from the left, flows through the Black River Lake and passes numerous rapids. After about 130 km the river reaches the southern part of Lake Winnipeg.
