Black Thoughts is the eighth official mixtape by American rapper Tyga . It was released on November 19, 2009 and is presented by DJs DJ Ill Will and DJ Rockstar . The mixtape was released by the Young Money Entertainment label.

background

The mixtape was released on November 19, 2009 and served, as is usual with such publications, to promote the artist and to bridge the time until the next album. Before that, a mixtape called Tygas was released in June 2009 under the name The Potential , but at that time it was still on Decaydance Records (in cooperation with Young Money Entertainment ). Another mixtape followed in May with Fan of a Fan , which he recorded together with Chris Brown . In April 2011, a sequel to this publication was also released, it was called Black Thoughts 2 .

reception

One reviewer wrote that although he's not a fan of the rapper, he really liked the mixtape. He also described it as "impressive" and gave it four out of five. He was also of the opinion that this release whet the appetite for the album We Are Young Money , which was released about a month after "Black Thoughts". "We Are Young Money" is a collaboration album by the artists who are under contract with the record label Young Money Entertainment , including Tyga. Another reviewer also went into the lyrics and described them as "untouchable". He also added that "there is a great variety of moods in the songs, but a clear line can still be seen".
