Black Tiger (rapper)

Black Tiger (* 1972 in Basel ; bourgeois Urs Baur ) is a Swiss hip-hop artist. He is considered to be the first musician to rap in Swiss German ( Basel German ), on “Murder by Dialect” (1991) by P-27 . He later recorded an album with MC Rony and founded the group Skeltigeron with Skelt . After that, Black Tiger focused again on his solo career and released two solo albums (Solo, 2003; Beton Melancholie, 2006).

Black Tiger completed the Matura at school on Cathedral Square , before he went into the music industry. After that he started at the University of Basel , a psychology - studying . However, he broke off this prematurely and worked, among other things, as a salesman, musician, actor, music editor and DJ. In spring 2014 Black Tiger received his master's degree in psychology from the University of Bern .

In 2012 he gathered 147 musicians from Basel and the region for the 1 City 1 Song project . The first concert took place in the Reithalle Basel, the second in the open air at Barfüsserplatz, where around 10,000 guests attended the event. The song was broadcast in full on Radio DRS 3 . It was recorded in the baselcitystudios .
