The Blackface Point ( English for Black Face Point ) is a striking and rocky headland on the Bowman coast of Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located 5 km northwest of Cape Freeman on the south bank of Seligman Inlet .
The first aerial photographs were taken during the United States Antarctic Service Expedition (1939–1941). The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey mapped the headland between 1947 and 1948. The descriptive name was given by the UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee on December 20, 1974. It is named after the deep black ledges on the front of the headland.
