Blagnac Sporting Club Rugby is a rugby union club from the French town of Blagnac in the Haute-Garonne department . He is represented in the highest amateur league, Fédérale 1 . The home games are played in the Stade Ernest-Argelès . The players are commonly referred to as caouecs , which means “carrots” in Occitan . There is a great rivalry with the US Colomiers team , which also comes from the Toulouse metropolitan area .
history
After being founded in 1922, Blagnac SCR played mostly in regional leagues. In the 1988/89 season the club was represented for the first time in the highest French league; after finishing second in the group stage of the championship, the team reached the round of 16, but lost to FC Lourdes . In 1990 he was relegated to the second, later to the third division. In the 2006/07 season, Blagnac reached second place in the highest amateur league, Fédérale 1, and rose again. However, the club was only able to hold its own in the second division for one season.
