The Blake-solid is a compact, from burrs existing solid without discernible peak in the Antarctic Ross Dependency . It rises 1,800 m high on the southern flank of the Byrd Glacier between the Lowry massif in the northeast and the Mandarich massif in the southwest.
Name giver of this formation is the New Zealand sailor and environmentalist Peter Blake (1948-2001), including two-time winner of the America's Cup , which was murdered in December 2001 by river pirates in the Brazilian Amazon delta.
