Blanche Berthoud
Blanche Berthoud (also Blanche Pernod-Berthoud ; born February 2, 1864 in Interlaken , † May 21, 1938 in Marin NE ) was a Swiss portrait and landscape painter .
Her father, the painter Auguste-Henri Berthoud , gave her her first painting lessons . She then studied at the Académie Julian in Paris with Benjamin Constant and Jules-Joseph Lefebvre .
She initially devoted herself to portraiture. From 1888 she exhibited her works in the Salon des Champs-Élysées. In 1896 she married Pernod and moved with him to Vaumarcus in the canton of Neuchâtel . Since then she has been engaged in alpine landscape painting and also with flower still life.
Her main work is Das Breithorn , exhibited and awarded at the Paris World Exhibition in 1900 . She was a member of the Société romande des femmes peintres (female painter society of French-speaking Switzerland ).
