Blasius Bender (Abbot)
Blasius Bender , also Blasius III. Bender , (* 1672 in Gengenbach ; † November 1727 in St. Blasien ) was abbot of the St. Blasien monastery in the Black Forest from December 2, 1720 to November 1727, as well as imperial arch chaplain and envoy. During his reign in St. Blasien the monastery of Sion was taken over. From 1723 to 1727 he had Bonndorf Castle converted into a baroque country castle.

Split, a golden crown of leaves in blue with a golden hammer inserted through it, above a golden star, behind it three green clovers. The hammer is a reference to the origin of the name from the profession of cooper .
