The blue Peruvian tetra ( Knodus borki ), English Cochu's Blue Tetra, is a freshwater fish from the family of the real tetra . The species has been sold under the scientific name Boehlkea fredcochui , Géry 1960 in specialist aquarium stores for years , but this was based on a wrong determination. In 2008 the species was re-described.

Occurrence

It is a shoal-forming tetras native to eastern Peru that reaches a length of about 5 cm. It occurs in the clay-colored and mineral-rich white water of the Rio Maranon , from Ecuador to Peru via Iquitos to the area around Leticia , Colombia .
