Bleachers is an American indie pop band from New York City . The singer of the band is the music producer and songwriter Jack Antonoff. The band's music was mainly influenced by the films of director John Hughes .

history

Previously, the singer Jack Antonoff belonged to the band Steel Train and the band Fun. with which he won two Grammys in 2012 in the categories Song of the Year ( We Are Young ) and Best New Artist. In 2014 he released the first single I Wanna Get Better with his new band Bleachers . This was followed by the debut album Strange Desire , on which the singers Grimes and Yoko Ono can also be heard. In 2015 the second studio album Terrible Thrills Vol. 2 followed , on which only new interpretations by female artists (including Sia ) of the songs from the debut album can be heard. In 2017 the band released their third studio album, Gone Now . On this album are u. a. Julia Michaels , Lorde and Carly Rae Jepsen can be heard as background singers. Lorde and Julia Michaels were also involved in the songwriting.

The songs I Wanna Get Better (August 2014) and Rollercoaster (March 2014) from the album Strange Desire took first and third place in the Billboard Alternative Song Charts. The song Don't Take the Money (July 2017) from the album Gone Now reached number 3 in the same category.
